Snowdonia National Park
At over 3,000ft, Snowdonia is the highest mountain in England and Wales, but don't worry, there's a small gauge railway that takes you up there, so you don't have to spend a day hiking. The train journey itself is a treat before you even get to the top of the mountain to check out the stunning views.
There is more than just the mountain though as there is plenty to do in the region. The area of Snowdonia also includes a coastal region, and there are plenty of events in the area, for example the Llŷn Land and Seafood Festival, so have a little look on the net before you visit to find out what's on.www.snowdonrailway.co.uk
Go Ape
Go Ape is an exhilarating high wire experience. There are four locations across Wales where you can 'fly' around forests on zip wires, and run about the canopies on high wire tree crossings. This is adventure for the young at heart - but check with the website to find out any restrictions on age/height, or otherwise.
The parks are located in forests in Pembrey, Coed-Y-Brenin, Beecraigs, and Black Park. You can book online at their website and also buy gift vouchers if you want to surprise someone. www.goape.co.uk
