Lancashire Popular Attractions

If you're looking to take a trip away from your caravan park, then take a look at some of the popular visitor attractions Lancashire has to offer.

Blackpool

Blackpool is a a magnet for holiday makers, and over the years facilities for tourists have kept growing. There's the Golden mile, and of course Blackpool tower, as well as the Pleasure beach which is the most visited attraction in the UK.

There's more to Blackpool than the tower though, so if you are going to be in the area for a day trip from your holiday park, have click on the link at the end of this paragraph to find out what else there is to see, and make a plan for the day. www.attractionsblackpool.co.uk

Lytham St Annes

If you fancy a traditional seaside resort, Lytham St Annes is a more relaxed place to enjoy the coast than Blackpool. Blackpool is great fun, but it is not for everyone, and Lytham is a lot smaller, and easier to get around.

The pace of life is slow, and many people move to Lytham to retire which says a lot about the 'genteel' nature of the area. Lytham might in fact be a bit too quiet for some, but, for others a gentle stroll down the beach with not a roller coaster in sight is just perfect. www.wikipedia.org

Walker Art Gallery

A holiday punctuated with visits to cultural centres can make your break a little more interesting. The Walker Art gallery in Liverpool is one of many in the area, but, it stands out as having one of the best art collections in Europe.

Classical art is mixed contemporary art, so there is something there to suit most people's tastes. There are guided tours, and there is a cafe available for refreshments. Have a look at the website before you go for details of current exhibitions. www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk

The Forest Of Bowland

The Forest of Bowland has more going on than a simple stroll through the woods. There are three villages under preservation orders, which means that you get to see un spoilt country village life,a great way to explore them being by bicycle, although make sure you are aware of the distances involved before committing yourself.

There is an emphasis on the preservation of wildlife and a great way of observing wildlife is by joining one of the regular organised walks through the area, (that way you shouldn't get lost). For further details and a calendar of events visit the website. www.forestofbowland.com
