Layer Marney Tower

If you are looking for a superb example of Tudor architectural design then look no further than Layer Marney Tower, this fine example of a Tudor Gatehouse was built around 1523 and is 80ft high and the tallest of its kind in England. Although severely damaged in 1884 by The Great Earthquake, this fine building has over the following years been restored and added to making it something truly spectacular to visit. There is a lot to see and do, make sure you visit the History room, Church, outbuildings, gardens and not forgetting the children’s play area and rare breeds’ farm.
